Correct tamping with constant pressure
The precise mechanics of the pressure-regulating firstshot This tamper impresses with two precisely matched springs working in parallel. The outer spring ensures a constant contact pressure on the portafilter, enabling correct, vertical, and even tamping. The inner spring is part of the sophisticated dynamometric system that enables the tamper's pressure regulation function. It is responsible for the precise tactile feedback when the tamping pressure is reached – the so called triggering of the tamper. Adjustable pressure

Handling
The firstshot Tamper is placed on the portafilter basket and centers itself automatically. Then, the handle is pressed down. Thanks to the precise linear bearing and support on the rim of the basket, the espresso powder is tamped vertically and evenly, regardless of hand movement or arm position. The pressure-regulating tamper provides precise haptic feedback indicating when the set pressure has been reached. Unlike other pressure-regulating tampers, such as the force tamper, the pressure point is clearly defined. This ensures consistent and precise tamping. With its exceptionally long 20mm stroke and minimal base protrusion, this spring-loaded tamper is highly versatile, easily accommodating both heavy overfills (high fill levels in a small basket) and underfills (low fill levels in a large basket).



Design: Form Follows Function
The uncompromising, technical design of the pressure-regulating firsthot Tamper is solely defined by its function, strictly followinf the principle "form follows function". The shape and appearance of each element are optimized for its purpose and serve solely the goal of perfect espresso preparation. Despite its compact size, the distinctive, external spring enables the longest stroke in its class. Like a ball joint, the spherical handle decouples the linear movement of the tamper from the arm and hand movement. Thereby the handle intuitively promotes correct handling.


Cleaning
Easy cleaning is just as essential for the comfortable use of the pressure-regulating tamper as ease of use itself.
